We have continuously upgraded and improved the specification to make Meanderer one of the most attractive, successful and respected hotel-barges currently operating in France. Meanderer is a steel hulled “Spitz” barge, originally built in Belgium in 1948 as a commercial freight carrier. At that time, the hull was 49m long and it remained in the same family ownership for 42 years. In 1991, the previous owners converted the barge to a charter boat (the work was carried out to a very high standard by the renowned Scheepsreparatie Shipyard in Friesland, Holland) and at the same time, the hull was shortened to 37.2m to enable the boat to cruise throughout Europe.
